Nov. 28/17

Today I’m on my way to a senior’s cottage on Lake Huron to complete the process of doing her fall cleanup.  The forecast is sunny and +11 degrees.  It’s the perfect day to reflect on how fortunate I am to be physically able to do the kinds of tasks I’m going to need to do today…I’m determined not to take for granted how easy it still is for me to bend, twist, flex, reach, lift…I’m also going to be newly grateful for being able to be outdoors in such a gorgeous setting, when so many others will only have the 4 same walls they had yesterday, the day before, and so many days before that…

Enjoy every minute today…take notice how often you get to choose which muscles you use, and how easy it is for you to use them to do so many different things.  Some day it may not be like that, so be grateful for whatever freedom of movement you have today, because that is one great example of what independence and personal choice feels like!
